On an overcast but dry day, in the presence of other guests that included the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, the banner was dedicated by the County Chaplains of the ACF during an impressive parade. Music was provided by the band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.. With 41,000 cadets, boys and girls (aged 12-18) and 9,500 adults in over 1,600 locations in every corner of the United Kingdom, the ACF is one of the country’s largest voluntary youth organisations. It is also one of the oldest tracing its history back to 1859.
On Saturday 31st October 2015, the Lord-Lieutenant presented new Banners to Merseyside Army Cadet Force. As well as being the Queen's personal representative in Merseyside, the Lord-Lieutenant is the Honorary Colonel of Merseyside Army Cadet Force.
